Tailem Bend Combined Sports Club

A group of passionate sports and community-minded people have come together in Tailem Bend, with a long-term goal to make sustainable improvements to sport and recreation facilities.

The informal group formed in late 2015, following concerns regarding the detrimental effect that increasing costs of running local clubs, ground maintenance and decreasing volunteer numbers was having on sport in the district.

The vision for this combined body is to help create more collaborative, cohesive and cost-effective strategies which would help make sport sustainable in the district.

The aspirations of the group for the future are to:

Create a stronger future for Tailem Bend local sports clubs, through establishing sustainable support mechanisms and exploring improved shared facilities;
Improve financial sustainability for all clubs;
Assist in maintaining strong membership, recruitment opportunities and volunteers;
Ensure sports clubs are in the right space to apply for State and Federal grant funding for major sports projects;
Create a more cohesive sports community where skills and resources can be shared to benefit each other;
Create potential revenue streams for clubs through facility hire, major functions etc.
