Mobile Skate Ramp

In May 2015 Meningie youngster Jace Ridley, with the support of two friends all aged 10, petitioned council for a skate park, collecting nearly 40 signatures.

His request impressed Coorong District Council staff and elected members so much that Council’s OPAL program agreed to fund a mobile skate ramp, which can be relocated around the region.

The skate ramp was recently officially ‘opened’ at the Meningie town oval by Mayor Neville Jaensch, with Jace’s help. The mobile skate ramp will be shifted to a new location every eight weeks, ensuring all young people in the Council’s region get a chance to enjoy it.
