Coomandook
Town tagline: ‘Fond memories from Coomy’
Once a railway stop for passenger trains and home to a full time station master, Coomandook is still a thriving farming community, where the students attend the local school and the majestic grain silos are still in use. Points of interest include the old school site, complete with memorial, and the Ted Freak memorial bench, commemorating one of Coomandook’s most influential community members. If you’re into geocaching Coomandook is a good ‘hot spot’ for it! The general store is a great place for travellers to stop and re-stock before they continue on their way.
