Play Our Way Program

Who is eligible

Applications are invited from local governments, community organisations, not-for-profits, and sporting organisations.

Purpose

The Play Our Way Program grant opportunity will provide funding of up to $200 million (inclusive of government administration costs) over three years from 2024-25.

This grant opportunity aims to address the barriers women and girls face when participating in sport and physical activity by delivering quality facilities and sport participation experiences where the need is greatest, and in a manner that is safe, equitable, accessible, inclusive, sustainable and enduring. The program will fund projects across two Streams:

Stream 1: Facilities 

Single or multi-year funding to support new and upgraded facilities, playing areas or spaces for sport and physical activity, specifically for women and girls.

Stream 2: Participation and equipment 

Single year funding, with projects able to be delivered over multiple years, to support sustainable and enduring sport participation programs, and/or new or upgraded equipment, specifically for women and girls.

Amount

Stream 1: Facilities

Applicants will be able to apply for a minimum of $50,000 up to a maximum of $1,500,000 for projects that support new and upgraded facilities, playing areas and spaces for sport and physical activity specifically for women and girls.

Stream 2: Participation and equipment

Applicants will be able to apply for a minimum of $50,000 up to a maximum of $1,000,000 for projects that support modifying and/or developing sustainable and enduring programs to promote women and girls’ participation in sport and physical activity, and/or new or upgraded equipment, specifically for women and girls. Projects may be assessed and offered a lower amount than applied for.

SA Football Facilities Fund

Who is eligible

Local governments, football clubs (who have both junior and senior teams playing in leagues that are run or affiliated with SANFL) and umpire associations can apply for funding.

Purpose

From state to local grassroots venues, the Fund will enhance the capacity of facilities and football infrastructure for all user groups.

Amount

Small grants up to $50,000, Large Grants up to $150,000.

Round 2 opens in August 2024 and closes in December 2024.

Telstra AFL Footy Country Grants

Who is eligible

Local football clubs across Australia.

Purpose

The Telstra Footy Country Grants is designed to financially assist local footy clubs affiliated with the AFL through three key initiatives:

- Grow and assist volunteer capacity
- Grow and diversify participation
- Improve club environments and experiences.

Amount

Up to $20,000.

Application due

Applications will open on Monday 5th February 2024. The following dates will represent a cut off for when applications are considered. For example, if you were to miss Round 1, you can still apply; however, the outcome of your application won't be known until after the Round 2 closure date.

  • Round 1: Monday 5th February to 11:59pm (AEDT) Sunday 3rd March 2024
  • Round 2: Monday 4th March to 3pm (AEDT) Friday 19th April 2024
  • Round 3: 3:01pm (AEDT) Friday 19th April to 3pm (AEDT) Thursday 13th June 2024
  • Round 4: 3:01pm (AEDT) Thursday 13th June to 5pm (AEDT) Wednesday 7th August 2024

Application outcomes will be provided via email and you should expect to receive an update at:

  • Round 1: Week of Monday 25th March 2024
  • Round 2: Week of Monday 20th May 2024
  • Round 3: Week of Monday 8th July 2024
  • Round 4: Week of Monday 2nd September 2024

$100 Sport Vouchers Program

Who is eligible

Open for parents and carers who are now able to claim $100 sport vouchers. All South Australian children in Reception to Year 9 are eligible from 1st January 2022.

Purpose

Use towards the cost of sport or dance club fees or memberships.

Amount

$100 sport vouchers - sport, dance and learn to swim fees.
