Waste Collection
The Coorong District Council provides a comprehensive waste collection service to support clean, sustainable communities across both township and rural areas.
Residents have access to weekly kerbside pickups, recycling and organics services, en‑route or bin bank options for rural properties, and four regional waste transfer stations for additional disposal needs.

Weekly Kerbside Collection (township areas (see maps below)
- Red bin (140 litre) – General waste (weekly)
- Yellow bin (240 litre) – Recycling (fortnightly)
- Green bin (240 litre) – Food & garden organics (fortnightly, on the opposite week to yellow)
These bins are owned and maintained by Council.
For rural properties outside township zones, you can choose from:
- En‑route bin collection for those with access to their properties along the existing collection route.
- Bin bank drop-off points
- Waste transfer station vouchers

Waste Transfer Station Vouchers are available to rural rate payers of Council who do not reside within the township collection boundary. Residents applying for this service will be charged a yearly dump voucher fee.
Dump vouchers:
- 12 Dump Vouchers (refer to fees and charges schedule)
Please note the following:
- 1 Dump Voucher entitles the property owner to dispose of a 6x4 trailer (to water level)
- Dump Vouchers must be presented to the Waste Depot Attendant on arrival
- Vouchers are valid for the financial year only
- Waste is to be deposited during scheduled operating times only.
To apply for dump vouchers please visit your nearest Council Office.
Coorong District Council operates four waste transfer stations throughout the Council area for rural residents.
The facilities are open every week on the nominated days below (excepting public holidays and when Council's hot weather policy requires closure of the sites - this includes Total Fire Ban days as declared by the CFS).

Residents can report missed bin collections to Council's waste contractor, Solo Resource Recovery, directly by phoning 08 8159 5052 or phoning Council on 1300 785 277 who will facilitate transferring residents through to Solo.
As Council does not have access to Solo driver video evidence, Solo will assist residents directly and arrange a collection.
