Coorong Finance Committee

The Coorong Finance Committee was formed in January 2019 under Section 41 of the Local Government Act 1999 for the broad purpose of advising, monitoring and assisting on matters relating to finance of the Council. The Finance Committee reviews the reliability and integrity of the information for inclusion in financial statements, returns and other strategic documents.

The Committee meets on the first Tuesday of each month and the minutes are tabled at the following Ordinary Council meeting.

Important Notice regarding Public Attendance

On 31 March 2020, Local Government Minister Stephan Knoll issued the first COVID-19 related emergency variations to the Local Government Act 1999 – in the form of the Electronic Participation in Council Meetings Notice (No 1) 2020. This Notice allows council and committee meetings to be conducted by electronic means.

From 7 April 2020 and onwards (while COVID-19 social distancing measures are required), Audit & Risk Committee meetings will be held with Council Members participating via electronic means. Members of the public can access meeting recordings via Council's YouTube channel.
