Community Wastewater Management Scheme - Renewal Program

Project Summary

The Community Wastewater Management Scheme (CWMS) Renewal Program consists of a list of assets for renewal which have been identified through asset management strategy, customer feedback and condition inspections.

Council recently carried out condition assessments on all CWMS pump chambers in Tailem Bend, Wellington East, Meningie & Tintinara. Council has prioritised “Urgent” and “High” category pump chambers for renewal to be delivered in two stages.

Stage 1 renewal program includes five pump chambers (two in Tailem Bend and three in Meningie) from the “Urgent” category to be delivered in 2022/23. Stage 2 renewal program includes nine pump chambers (six in Tailem Bend and three in Meningie) from the “High” category to be delivered in 2023/24.


Project Status - Stage 2 Complete in Tailem Bend and Meningie

Stage 2  of CWMS pump chamber renewal works are planned to commenced during August 2023 in Tailem Bend and in Meningie and are now complete.

The project included bypassing the effluent inflow using tanker trucks to control the effluent inflows while carrying out the pump chamber relining works.

Tailem Bend Pump Station Works

Works commenced in Tailem Bend on Monday, 7 August 2023 and are now complete at the following pump stations (map below):

  • Pump Station 4 - 52 Princess Highway
  • Pump Station 8 - First Avenue

Meningie Pump Station Works

Works commenced  in Meningie on Monday, 28 August 2023 and are now complete at the following pump stations (map below):

  • Pump Station 5 - Narrung Road
  • Pump Station 7 - Pettett Road
  • Pump Station 4 - Warrengie Drive
