Council workshops are generally held on the first and third Tuesday of each month and are open to the public, except where the workshop pertains to information and matters within the ambit of section 90(3) of the Local Government Act 1999 (confidential items), or is a planning session of a general or strategic nature.
Workshop details may not be available until closer to the workshop date, owing to finalising and confirming workshop schedules.
Please note: On 31 March 2020, Local Government Minister Stephan Knoll issued the first COVID-19 related emergency variations to the Local Government Act 1999 – in the form of the Electronic Participation in Council Meetings Notice (No 1) 2020. This Notice allows council and committee meetings as well as informal gatherings to be conducted by electronic means.
From 7 April 2020 and onwards (while COVID-19 social distancing measures are required), informal gatherings have been held with Council Members participating via electronic means, however Members are now transitioning back to face-to-face meetings and informal gatherings.
With the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, Council can now accommodate up to 11 members of the public in the Chambers during Council meetings and workshops.
Next Council workshop:
The next Council workshop will be held on Tuesday, 3 November 2020, at the Coorong Civic Centre.
