Coorong community groups can now apply for up to $5,000 in funding to help deliver projects and events through the latest round of Coorong District Council’s Community Grants program.

Mayor Paul Simmons is pleased to invite groups to apply for grants through the program.

“Our local community groups and sporting clubs continue to drive initiatives and projects that make our communities great places to live, work and play, and we want to keep supporting their efforts to evolve and thrive,” says Mayor Simmons.

“The previous grant round saw a variety of project achieved, including solar power installation, mosaics classes, new storage shed and facilities upgrades at some of our sporting and community clubs.”

Community groups involved in local sport and recreation, cultural, community development, and social and welfare activities may be eligible to apply for grants between $1,000 and $5,000 in one of three categories; Small Community Grants, Community Event Grants, and Community Project Grants.

Groups are encouraged to consider submitting applications for community projects or events that are inclusive, encourage wide participation, create a sense of community pride or stimulate economic growth.

Applications close at 9am on Monday, 8 April 2024. Applicants can apply online or download the application package and find more information on Council’s website www.coorong.sa.gov.au.

Council’s Community Development Team is also available to discuss project or event ideas with applicants by phone (1300 785 277) or email council@coorong.sa.gov.au.
