Coorong Community Grants Program Now Open
Coorong community groups can now apply for up to $5,000 in funding to help deliver projects and events through the latest round of Coorong District Council’s Community Grants program.
Applications are now open for 2024/25 – community groups, hall committees and sporting clubs across the Coorong District Council are invited to apply.
Council will offer a total of $50,000 within this financial year for projects that make positive contributions to community and cultural life through enhancing community wellbeing or improving community facilities.
Coorong District Council’s Mayor Paul Simmons is pleased to invite groups to apply for grants through the program.
“Our local community groups and sporting clubs continue to drive initiatives and projects that make our communities great places to live, work and play, and we want to keep supporting their efforts to evolve and thrive,” says Mayor Simmons.
“The previous grant round saw a variety of projects achieved, including solar power installation, mosaics classes, a new storage shed, and facilities upgrades at some of our sporting and community clubs.”
Community groups involved in local sport and recreation, cultural, community development, and social and welfare activities may be eligible to apply for grants between $1,000 and $5,000 in one of three categories: Small Community Grants, Community Events, and Community Projects.
Projects eligible for the program include, but are not limited to, events and programs, purchasing of equipment, facility upgrades, and general maintenance
Groups are encouraged to consider submitting applications for community projects or events that are inclusive, encourage wide participation, create a sense of community pride or stimulate economic growth.
Applications close at 5pm on Friday, 27 September 2024. Relevant information and application forms are available online at www.coorong.sa.gov.au/communitygrants.
Community groups are invited to discuss their project ideas before applying with Council’s Community Development Special Projects Officer by phoning 1300 785 277 or emailing council@coorong.sa.gov.au.
