Coorong Community Grants Round Two Now Open
Coorong community groups can now apply for up to $5,000 in funding to help deliver projects and events through the latest round of Coorong District Council’s Community Grants program.
Mayor Paul Simmons is pleased to invite groups to apply through the second round of community grants for 2021-22.
“We recognise the importance in supporting local groups who provide valuable social and economic benefits to our communities,” says Mayor Simmons.
“In the most recent round, Coorong District Council’s community grants program funded new kitchen appliances, equipment and a defibrillator for community halls, a transportable generator purchased for community events, additions and repairs made to community buildings, and funding towards a local canoe event – these activities all contribute to the vibrancy and strength of our local communities.”
Community groups involved in local sport and recreation, cultural, community development, and social and welfare activities may be eligible to apply for grants between $1,000 and $5,000 in one of three categories; Small Community Grants, Community Event Grants, and Community Project Grants.
Groups are encouraged to consider submitting applications for community projects or events that are inclusive, encourage wide participation, create a sense of community pride or stimulate economic growth.
Applications close at 5:00pm on Friday, 25 March 2022. Applicants can apply online or download the application package and find more information on Council’s website.
Council’s Community Development Team is also available to discuss project or event ideas with applicants by calling 1300 785 277 or emailing council@coorong.sa.gov.au.
