Coorong Community Grants Round Two Now Open
Coorong community groups can now apply for up to $5,000 in funding to help deliver projects and events through the latest round of Coorong District Council’s Community Grants program.
Mayor Paul Simmons is pleased to invite groups to apply through the second round of community grants for 2022-23.
“Our local community groups and sporting clubs are the heart of our communities, and we want to continue to support their efforts to evolve and thrive,” says Mayor Simmons.
“In the most recent round, the Council’s community grants program funded new fencing, a defibrillator, volunteers skills development and facilities upgrades at some of our sporting and community clubs, as well as supporting activities at the 2022 Tailem Bend Christmas Parade.”
Community groups involved in local sport and recreation, cultural, community development, and social and welfare activities may be eligible to apply for grants between $1,000 and $5,000 in one of three categories; Small Community Grants, Community Event Grants, and Community Project Grants.
Groups are encouraged to consider submitting applications for community projects or events that are inclusive, encourage wide participation, create a sense of community pride or stimulate economic growth.
Applications close at 5:00pm on Friday, 31 March 2023. Applicants can apply online or download the application package and find more information on Council’s website www.coorong.sa.gov.au.
Council’s Community Development Team is also available to discuss project or event ideas with applicants by phoning 1300 785 277 or emailing council@coorong.sa.gov.au.
