Ngarrindjeri Artist Kath Moore Featured at the Coorong Gallery
A new exhibition featuring contemporary works from Kath Moore, a Ngarrindjeri and Kaurna artist from Adelaide are on display in the Coorong Gallery.
To celebrate Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC week the Coorong Gallery will be exhibiting artworks from Kath Moore.
Kath gets her inspiration for her artwork from her Nan, Doris Kropinyeri who grew up at Raukkan. Kath has a strong connection to the country and waters. Her artwork tells the stories of her Nan’ life growing up on the mission, stories of the Ngarrindjeri people as well as her own story.
“When you purchase a piece of my art, you are taking home a piece of my culture to share with your family and friends. Telling the stories of the Ngarrindjeri people is sharing over 40,000 years of our rich culture that has been passed down from our ancestors.”
Each year the Coorong Gallery features artworks by Aboriginal artists to celebrate the cultural diversity of the Coorong district its people.
The 2024 Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week exhibition is open to the public at the Coorong Gallery between 9am – 4:30pm weekdays, and will remain on display until 25 July 2024.
