New Waste Collection Contractor 'Solo' to Commence in the Coorong

Coorong District Council is pleased to welcome on board its new waste collection contractor, Solo Resource Recovery, who will commence operations within the Coorong district from Monday, 29 August 2022.

“We look forward to working with Solo in the delivery of this essential service to our community,” says Coorong District Council Mayor Paul Simmons.

“We are mindful of minimising any disruptions to services already in place that our residents rely on and are pleased that we can continue collections as normal”, says Mayor Paul Simmons.

Residents can expect collection practices for kerbside township, en-route and bin bank services to continue on the current nominated days, as displayed in the 2022/23 waste collection calendar.

To assist Solo in collecting rubbish, residents are asked to ensure that bins are placed on the kerb (facing the road) before 6am on collection day, and are retrieved within 24 hours after collection.

Coorong District Council also offers residents access to any of its four waste transfer stations located at Tailem Bend, Coonalpyn, Tintinara and Meningie on Wednesdays and Sundays.

This includes the now weekly drumMUSTER service, which is available for disposal of chemical drums from 2pm – 3pm every Wednesday. Bookings are essential and can be made by contacting Coorong District Council on 1300 785 277.
