Shaping the Future: Feedback Sought on New Coorong Community Vision Plan
The Coorong District Council is inviting feedback from the community on its draft Community Vision Plan 2026–2030.
Endorsed for community engagement at the Council’s Ordinary meeting held on 17 February 2026, the draft Community Vision Plan has been shaped by the voices of local residents and is firmly grounded in what the community has said matters most to them for the future of the district.
The Plan has been developed following an extensive community engagement process, with 575 community members contributing more than 5,000 ideas, thoughts and aspirations. The feedback has helped to drive the Plan’s priorities, focus areas and strategies.
The Council’s Acting Mayor Cr. Jonathan Pietzsch has sincerely thanked everyone who took the time to share their views and help shape a shared vision for the Coorong district.
“We want to thank every resident who provided input – those comments have been vital in building a genuine, community‑led vision for the Coorong district,” says Acting Mayor Cr. Jonathan Pietzsch.
The four-year Plan will continue to focus on the key themes of Community, Economy, Environment, Infrastructure and Leadership, with practical and achievable actions included that reflect aspirations expressed by residents.
The Community Vision Plan 2026–2030 will replace the previous plan adopted in 2020 and sets a clear, community‑led direction for the district. It captures the long‑term vision, values, priorities and aspirations of the people who live, work and invest in the region.
Community consultation on the draft Plan is invited from Monday, 23 February 2026 and concludes on Friday, 9 March 2026. Copies of the draft Community Vision Plan are available for inspection at all Council offices and on the Council’s website at www.coorong.sa.gov.au/CVP2030.
Community members are encouraged to review the draft Plan and provide feedback by attending a community workshop, completing an online submission form, or lodging a written submission by mail or in person. All feedback will be carefully considered before the Plan is finalised and presented to the Council for adoption.
