Transporter Parade Returns to Welcome Back the 2022 Repco Supercars Championship

The main street of Tailem Bend will feel the rumble and roar of B-Double transporters on Wednesday, 27 July as they return for the 2022 Repco Supercars Championship.

This multimillion-dollar procession of Supercars transporters will herald the return of the Supercars to South Australia for the 2022 Repco Supercars Championship’s OTR SuperSprint hosted by The Bend Motorsport Park over the final weekend in July (29-31 July 2022).

Locals and visitors to the region are expected to line the main street and welcome their return.

“In 2021 over 1,500 people lined the main street to welcome the Supercars Championship to Tailem Bend, and we are expecting similar numbers this year,” says Coorong District Council’s Mayor Paul Simmons.

“We are delighted to host this year’s Supercars Transporter Parade, which provides our own community a fantastic opportunity to join in and celebrate our region hosting a large-scale motorsport event in our own backyard.

“The OTR SuperSprint is a drawcard not only for The Bend Motorsport Park, but for our surrounding region and local businesses, and we look forward to welcoming visitors over the course of the weekend.”

On Wednesday 27 July, the B-Double transporters will make their way from The Bend Motorsport Park along the Dukes Highway towards Tailem Bend, turning onto Tuscany Grove, then Big Olive Grove and along Golf Course Road, entering Tailem Bend via Railway Terrace and through the main street.

The B-Doubles will be supported by an entourage of local classic cars from the Tailem Bend Auto Club, who will join in the procession through the main street of Tailem Bend.

The transporters will finish their journey by turning onto Granites Road and then Princes Highway to return to The Bend.

Kicking off at 4pm on Wednesday 27 July 2022, spectators are encouraged to congregate safely along Railway Terrace and show their support.

Unfortunately, due to the timing of this year’s event, the popular meet-and-greet with Supercars drivers will not occur, however driver interactions are planned for future years when the Supercars return to The Bend.
