Foundation for Rural Regional Renewal - 'In a Good Place' Program
Who is eligible
Organisations are eligible to apply if they are:
- not-for-profit organisations with either an Incorporation Certificate and/or an ABN. If you are unsure if your organisation is a registered not-for-profit (for example, if you are a Co-operative, Other Unincorporated Entity, Public Company or Trust), please contact FRRR
- Not-for-profit organisations with or without DGR-1 endorsement are eligible
- Organisations registered as charities with the ACNC are preferred but not essential
Purpose
The In a Good Place program gives small remote, rural and regional communities across Australia the opportunity to access funds for a broad range of community-driven projects, services, activities or initiatives, which clearly and directly focus on strengthening mental health and wellbeing of vulnerable community members who are at risk of, or are experiencing, mental health issues.
There are now two streams within the program:
- Community wellbeing for projects focussing on mental health and wellbeing within remote, rural and regional communities;
- Farmers and farming communities for project specifically supporting mental health and wellbeing of farmers and the communities they live in.
Amount
In a Good Place offers grants of up to $20,000, from a funding pool of at least $290,000.

Expressions of interest are due 30th April 2024, with full applications submitted by invitation by 15th May 2024.

80th Anniversary of the end of World War II Grant Fund
Who is eligible
Organisations are eligible to apply if they are:
- an incorporated organisation established for the purpose of helping or supporting, or having a membership consisting of or including, veterans or dependants of veterans. This includes ex-service organisations.
- a local government authority, a school, or an incorporated not-for-profit organisation.
Purpose
2025 will mark the 80th Anniversary of the end of the World War II, and Veterans SA has opened a new grant fund supporting activities that commemorate this historical moment in time.
To honour the sacrifices and contributions made by South Australians during the war, $132,000 in grant funding is available for distribution in the 2024-2025 financial year to support projects or activities that recognise the end of World War II and educate the community about its impact on our local community that:
- honour and recognise WWII veterans
- deliver WWII related commemorative services or community events
- communicate WWII stories
- identify WWII sites of historical significance or conserve WWII wartime heritage
- educate the community about the significance of World War II to the South Australian community.
Amount
There is no minimum or maximum amount that individual applications can apply for. The grant process is competitive, and applications may be funded in full, partially-funded or not funded at all.

Who is eligible
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities or groups
Purpose
The National Indigenous Australians Agency considers grant proposals that address a need for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Proposals should be developed with the target community or group who will be impacted by the activity.

- Resilient communities that are well prepared and socially connected when disaster strikes with the ability to renew and recover together;
- Sustainable communities that are diverse and inclusive, planning for the health, wellbeing, and prosperity of their people and the planet; and
- Liveable communities that have digital capability and help to equip individuals with the skills to live, learn and work in a digital society.

Strengthening Rural Communities - Small & Vital
Who is eligible
Applicant organisations must be a not-for-profit organisation with either an Incorporation Certificate and/or an ABN.
Purpose
A broad range of grassroots, community-led initiatives that directly and clearly benefit local communities that strengthen local people, places and climate solutions, with a preference for smaller communities (populations under 15,000).

Strengthening Rural Communities - Prepare & Recover
Who is eligible
Applicant organisations must be a not-for-profit organisation with either an Incorporation Certificate and/or an ABN.
Purpose
The program supports communities in remote, rural and regional communities across Australia to implement initiatives that prevent and prepare for future climate related impacts, or recover from existing disasters in the medium to long-term timeframe, generally one to ten years after the disaster.

Up to $25,000.

Telstra Top Up
Who is eligible
To be eligible, a client must:
- Have an existing "Telstra Pre-Paid Mobile" (not on a "Telstra Pre-Paid Mobile Casual" plan) service, or
- Connect a new Telstra Pre-Paid mobile service (Telstra Pre-Paid starter kits are available from $2 online at Telstra).
Purpose
The program helps those experiencing vulnerability stay connected to the people and services supporting them by providing a $160 Pre-Paid mobile recharge with 70GB of data for six months.

Helping Regional Communities Prepare for Drought Initiative - Small Network Grants
Who is eligible
Applicant organisations must be a not-for-profit organisation with either an Incorporation Certificate and/or an ABN.
Purpose
The Small Network Grants will fund networks, community events, training initiatives, community infrastructure, development and learning initiatives that assist local people and communities to strengthen social capital and capability to prepare for future droughts.
Amount
Grants are available across two rounds in:
- Stream 1: Grants up to a maximum of $20,000; or
- Stream 2: Grants up to a maximum of $50,000 (dependent on location).

Strengthening Inclusive Pathways to Employment Grants
Who is eligible
Eligible organisations must be an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation, or other not-for-profit community organisation, a social enterprise that holds a current certification with Social Traders.
Purpose
This funding opportunity is a one-off grant of up to $50,000 for:
- Building digital connectivity and capability for public access in communities, such as Wi-Fi connectivity in regional and remote areas, IT equipment for training, and community inclusion and participation, digital literacy for priority focus groups.
- Providing equipment and resources to deliver or expand on-the-job training opportunities.
- Improving Access to information and resources with the development of formats including Easy Reads, First Nations languages and video resumes.
- Support for delivery of Learners License driving programs for learners from the priority focus groups to gain on road driving experience.
- Providing equipment and resources to develop or expand Social Enterprises.
- Building the inclusive practices of organisations. Examples could include Cultural Sensitivity/Cultural Competence training, Diversity training, Rainbow Tick accreditation, Autism Awareness training.
- Access improvements including ramps, installation of handrails, automatic doors, office, and bathroom modifications.
