Meningie CFS Shed (Youth Centre) Demolition

DEMOLITION WORKS – Meningie Youth and Community Centre / Old CFS Building

The building contained within Lot 343 Princes Highway, Meningie, SA, 5264 (CT5306/508) is set to be demolished as it is no longer fit for purpose.

The intention is to remove the building and return the allotment to an open spaced area available to the public. In addition, works have already commenced on part of the site (bordering Narrung Rd) which will be used for RAA’s construction of a new Electric Vehicle Charging Station due to be completed in May / June 2024.

The building will be strategically dismantled by a licenced demolition contractor. As per the asbestos register and within all required regulations, all asbestos will be removed from site and disposed at a licenced facility. The remainder of the building, including slab and footings, will then be demolished with all materials being separated and disposed of at a licenced waste facility.

Whilst demolition is occurring, the site will be secured via temporary fencing to maintain a safe barrier between the works and nearby public.

Please be mindful of plant & equipment operations and restricted access due to exclusion zones around the area of works.

Once demolition is complete, the area will then be leveled with a sandy loam and seeded to establish grass across the site.

Demolition works are planned for commencement Thursday 4th April and completion Friday 12th April.
