Soils and Sand Stabilisation

The Coorong Tatiara LAP has been working on sandhill stabilisation projects since 2001.

The presentation below summarises the lessons we have learnt from working on challenging sites.

The topics covered include:

  • A pure clay is not always required to stabilise the site. Will a rubble with a low clay content do the job?
  • What are the options when there is no clay?
  • What are the machinery options?
  • The end land use after stabilisation will vary. The aim may not be to return the site to full production. Be realistic!
  • How can clay be found?
